Since its launch in 2010, Pinterest has had new users flocking to their platform to share and explore their interests, ideas, and tastes. Last week, Pinterest celebrated a new milestone: As of September 14, 2017, Pinterest celebrated more than 200 million users every month. Pinterest exclaims:
"We’ve grown nearly 40 percent since last year, and more than half of all Pinners live outside the U.S.—if Pinland were a country, it’d be the 7th largest in the world!"*
The good news for Pinterest users is that the image-based social network has taken this opportunity to also announce a couple of new features to hit the platform in the near future.
Upcoming Pinterest Features:
- Pinch-to-zoom: From you mobile or tablet device, this will allow you to zoom in and out of images using just your fingers.
- Board sections: In essence, this will function as boards within boards. Users will have the ability to add sections to their boards, simplifying the way they organize Pins they way they want to. Pinterest says that "This means you can save all your ideas to a single board, organize into sections, and easily find them later."
Pinterest claims that there are other features that they aren't announcing just yet, but that they'll be rolling early access to current Pinner's to help them test out their newest ideas.
